Job Summary
The Field Application Engineer position ranks third in the Sales Department, reporting to the Sales Engineer, whom in turn reports to the CMO. He/she will be responsible for the technical perspective of the sales, assisting the customers in Design Optimization, Parts Selection, Prototypes Construction, Testing and Problem-Solving, and assisting the Sales Engineer in closing deals.
On the strategic level, the Field Applications Engineer goal is to promote the Brands our company has better leverage with. He/she will work closely with the Sales Engineer and the CMO to understand the market from a technical perspective, and asses the levels at which we can serve our customers better by employing our favored brands.
On the tactical level, the Field Applications Engineer will assist the Sales Engineer on a day- to-day basis closing deals. He/she will communicate with the customers to understand the technical needs of the applications, its limitations, and the problems being faced, in order to assess potential opportunities with the Sales Engineer. This part of the job is essential to prepare the Field Applications Engineer for his/her potential promotion to Sales Engineer.
Job Responsibilities
§ Visit customers regularly to understand the technical side of their PCB Production projects
§ Replicate the basic designs, with the intention to improve them by switching to our favored electronic components
§ Build basic prototypes (LED Drivers, Chargers, etc.) and present their gains to customers
§ Assist customers solving design problems or production problems when our intervention is requested
§ Create regular leads to the Sales Engineer by noting and acting upon customers’ technical challenges
§ Compare and analyze data sheets for different Electronic Components, report the results, and recommend the optimal option
§ Follow up with customers on potential opportunities as per the Sales Engineer guidance
